TYPICAL TOASTMASTER DAY
I often get asked, “what is your typical toastmaster day like” My answer, there is never a typical day as all functions are different and all weddings unique, however, by appointing me as your toastmaster for your very special day I will ensure that your wedding reception runs smoothly and add a touch of pomp and splendour to your occasion.
I will discreetly go about my duties coordinating, directing and announcing the ceremonial proceedings and can also help the bride’s father, the best man and the groom with their wedding speeches.
4 weeks before your wedding
I will set up a face to face meeting to discuss your wedding day, ideally at the reception venue. At the meeting, I will go through the whole day with you to ensure that I understand all of your requirements. If required, I can also provide help and guidance, but ultimately the extent of my involvement is ultimately your decision.
The weeks leading up to the wedding
During this time, you can have as much email or telephone contact with me as you require. It is extremely important that you keep me up to date with any changes to requirements so that I can provide the best service possible for your wedding service.
On the wedding day
I will arrive at the venue ahead of time so that I can check your venue is correctly set up e.g. seating plans, place cards, gift table etc. I can also help organise other suppliers who are setting up, so they are finished before the wedding guests arrive and liaise with the venue staff about your timings.
Once the wedding has started, I will assist the photographer organising group shots. During the wedding breakfast/dinner, is when I have the most important duties. I will escort the bride and groom into the room, introduce speakers, organise the cutting of the cake and formally close the proceedings
Additionally, if required I can help organise your bouquet throw, meet and greet your evening guests and organise everyone to watch your first dance. This is where a toastmaster differs from a venue MC who generally will make announcements and corral guests, but they aren’t personal to you.
When it comes to documenting the beauty, intimacy and authenticity of your special day, we are here with you all the way.
Let me help you make your dream wedding as unique as you are – contact me today for an informal chat – I would love to hear from you.
